Mark your calendars! With hurricane season around the corner, now is the time to prepare your emergency supplies. April 22-24, 2017 is the 2017 Emergency Preparation Supplies Sales Tax Holiday1.
Some emergency preparation supplies may qualify for a sales tax exemption such as:
Less than $3,000
- Portable generators
Less than $300
- Emergency ladders
- Hurricane shutters
Less than $75
- Batteries, single or multipack (AAA, AA, C, D, 6 volt or 9 volt)
- Light sources: flashlights, lanterns, candles, etc.
- Smoke detectors
- Carbon monoxide detectors
- Radios
- And more
