LegalEASE Exceeds Fundraising Goal with Over $53,740 Raised for Domestic Violence Survivors Through Families to Freedom

Houston, TX — LegalEASE, a leader in legal insurance solutions, is proud to share the remarkable success and positive impact of its initiatives during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Through a series of events, fundraisers, and volunteer activities, LegalEASE and its dedicated employees raised significant awareness and resources for domestic violence survivors.

Families to Freedom Fundraiser Surpasses Goal
LegalEASE proudly exceeded its fundraising goal supporting Families to Freedom, a nonprofit dedicated to helping survivors of domestic violence reach safe destinations. By raising $28,870, which LegalEASE then matched dollar-for-dollar, the company achieved a combined fundraising total of $54,040. This impressive donation will go directly toward supporting individuals and families escaping abusive situations, providing critical transportation, resources, and a chance to rebuild.

The success of the Families to Freedom fundraiser was fueled by LegalEASE’s "Not all Heroes Wear Capes,” an internal campaign where 87% of employees contributed by donating money, items, or volunteering their time. This remarkable level of engagement reflects LegalEASE’s strong culture of unity and care, with team members coming together to make a difference for domestic violence survivors.

Families to Freedom founder Sarah Nejdl expressed deep gratitude, saying, “All the gifts and contributions made by everyone at LegalEASE will be put to use immediately, transporting victims to safety so they can overcome what domestic violence has taken from them. Together we’re restoring lives and bringing justice to the Greater Houston area. On behalf of the hundreds of victims and their children we’ll move to safety in 2025, thank you thank you!!”

Award-Winning Chili at Casa De Esperanza Cookoff
In a show of community engagement, LegalEASE joined Casa de Esperanza’s annual Chili Cookoff, an event supporting this non-profit’s mission to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children in crisis, particularly those affected by abuse, neglect, or HIV. LegalEASE Founder & CEO Bob Heston entered his celebrated recipe, “Best Domestic Violence Awareness Chili Ever,” which won People’s Choice for Best Chili, Best Booth Theme, and Runner-Up for Overall Best Taste.

These awards highlighted LegalEASE’s commitment to meaningful causes, with team members dedicating their time and energy to support the event’s success. All proceeds from LegalEASE’s participation went directly to Casa de Esperanza and its vital mission.

Supporting AVDA’s Home Sweet Home Gala
LegalEASE also volunteered at AVDA’s Home Sweet Home Gala, supporting an evening dedicated to raising funds for victims of abuse. As a partner organization, AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) is committed to providing legal advocacy, counseling, and education to end family violence and empower survivors. This hands-on involvement with AVDA furthers LegalEASE’s role in the community.

Through fundraising, volunteer work, and awareness activities, LegalEASE is honored to contribute to the movement against domestic violence, supporting survivors and strengthening communities.
